NAB Mobile Banking App
About the project
Role: Senior Product Designer
Timeline: 2019-2020. 6 months (Melbourne - NAB HQ)
Deliverables: User interviews, interactive prototypes, design system contribution, hi-fi handover for native apps.
Objective
NAB are in the process of uplifting their mobile application on both Android and iOS, as well as adding numerous services to the app. Since it is an uplift of their current product (built in Swift and Java), we have been designing for and working with iOS and Android specific scrum teams.
What we did
I came into the mobile team as a Senior UI Designer, but my background in UX allowed me to begin leading projects from their infant (UX) stage, through UI and into development preparation and handover. During this time I worked closely with other UX and UI designers, the NAB A11Y team, numerous BA’s and their teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders. Designing patterns for the NAB GEL, creating low - high fidelity prototypes, conducting moderated user testing and presenting to stakeholders.
Outcome
With accessibility and usability always at the front our minds, creating developer ready designs, bug testing on app simulators and designing A11Y approved components for the GEL system all at once forced the team to work in an extreme agile fashion. The rolling launch of the uplifted app opened up opportunities to test the real thing and see how it performed in the real world.Examples of major products that launched in late 2020 where I played a large role were the Smart Receipts and 'Xero' Invoice Matching.
JockeyHQ
Jockey Management App
About the project
Role: Lead Product Designer
Timeline: 2023. 4 months (remote)
Deliverables: Branding, user interviews, interactive prototypes, Figma UI kit, hi-fi design handover for development team.
Objective
The primary objective of this project was to design an intuitive and comprehensive mobile application for JockeyHQ, aimed at revolutionising communication and information sharing among Jockeys, Jockey Managers, and Trainers. Our goal was to create a digital platform that serves as a single source of truth for all aspects of equestrian racing and training. By integrating user-centered design principles and thorough market research, we sought to ensure that the app not only meets but exceeds the unique needs of its users, enhancing collaboration and streamlining workflows within the equestrian community.
What we did
I had the opportunity to collaborate with JockeyHQ, creating a comprehensive digital solution tailored for Jockeys, Jockey Managers, and Trainers. My role encompassed the full spectrum of design responsibilities, from initial branding concepts to the delivery of high-fidelity designs. This project was a journey through the intricacies of design, deeply rooted in understanding user needs and culminating in a product that stands as a single source of truth for the equestrian racing and training community.
Outcome
The JockeyHQ app project was a notable success, smoothly brought to life by the development team using my Figma designs. Its rollout in the racing community has been met with positive reviews, highlighting its intuitive interface and effectiveness as a communication tool. This success demonstrates the value of user-centered design and collaborative efforts in creating impactful digital solutions for specific industry needs.
Australian Unity
UX Strategy & Information Architecture Restructure
About the project
Role: Senior UX / UI Designer
Timeline: 2020. 3 months (remote)
Deliverables: Customer-lead research, information architecture restructure, user testing, report writing, responsive navigation redesign.
Objective
With a reinvigorated master-brand, change in how the business views itself, along with recent group customer strategy work, Australian Unity has identified that a customer centric approach is needed to improve the public facing website.Part of this change calls for a website with business verticals that better interact with one another through an improved information architecture and navigation strategy. The assets, guidelines and principles created from this vital work will enable AU the confidence and clarity to scale and maintain the integrity of the website uplift internally.
What we did
Using Google Analytics, customer lead research and web heuristics together to dictate the direction of the IA re-build process, we worked closely with stakeholders and the internal team to ensure the new IA and navigation experience would work for all customers.
After identifying Australian Unity’s current IA and conducting multiple rounds of unmoderated user testing (card sorts and tree tests), as well as creating different hi-fi prototypes for moderated user testing (for both desktop and mobile). After rounds of testing/iterating the prototype, we collated all data and put it together into suitable file types for each department.
Outcome
This project required big amounts of buy-in from stakeholders, as well as a large volume of testing to benchmark. We supplied a navigation strategy and plan for next steps. Along with high fidelity navigation designs and a clickable prototypes for Australian Unity to go forward with and implement.

The Intime Collective
Mobile App Prototype and Design Sprints
About the project
Role: Senior UX / UI Designer
Timeline: 2020. 2 months (remote)
Deliverables: Design Sprints, interactive prototypes user testing, report writing, presenting recommendations back to client.
Objective
The Intime Collective, a small startup came to us to assist them in finding a next stage solution to their current business model. They came to us with the question; “How can we support and better prepare couples for the transition from being partners who work – to working parents who work better together?”
What we did
It didn’t take long before it was decided that a digital solution which could work not only as a stand-alone product, but could also compliment the workshops they were currently running was the best solution to test. As we ran through exercises to generate ideas for this solution, two solid, but different directions began to evolve. We took it to a vote and with the help of some guerrilla testing on the two concepts, we decided on just one to prototype and test.
With some decision time eating into what was dedicated to prototyping. We had to work quickly to get the chosen concept designed and clickable before our users were booked in for testing.
Outcome
A solid clickable hi-fi prototype and digital business plan document for the client to take to potential investors.
